Dear Diary,
The little Nuthatch and Chickadee see the world from different angles but they have no problem sharing the suet cake hanging on Auntie's tree. There is plenty for all. Forgive me if I can't help seeing the world through political eyes today. It is all I think about these days. It will be all over tomorrow night but will it?
I fear we have opened a Pandora's box that will be very difficult to close on November 9th. When anger and hate and racism is given a voice it will take the collective, unified voice of an entire country to quell it and to begin to heal the wounds. These tiny birds are oblivious. They share the bounty, each in their own way, and go about their lives. Sometimes I envy them. I can only pray we can do the same; perhaps in time we will come to understand that we truly are stronger together. We don't have to see the world the same way but we have to work for the common good. Compromise is not a bad thing, it is how the world gets on. Just ask the Nuthatch and the Chickadee.
