It's back to Friday

Having been away in Scotland and Wales for the past couple of weeks it was great to get back to jazz at Burgundy's Wine Bar last night. And what a night with Ed Kainyek fronting on sax, Vinnie Parker on keyboards, Roy Cansdale on bass and Ted Richards on drums. This is Vinnie on the left, totally immersed in his keyboard playing, no music in front of him and producing amazing stuff. And Ed who leads this quartet, with amazing mellow sax tones. All of them so immensely talented.

It was so good to catch up with the usual gang, but noticeably missing was Inspector Currington and the beautiful Julie with her jazzy hat. The ever smiling Siobham won a painting book in the raffle so she may bring her brushes next week. And Susie was most pleased with her raffle prize - French beans. And the money raised goes towards travel costs for these great jazz guys - these two all the way from Manchester last night.
