Lali's World

Standing stones and mist

Second day of our trip to Balquhidder.

We woke up with a grey sky and it didn't get any better than that. There was not much light and we had a drizzle all day long. This didn't put us off going for a walk though. I took a fair amount of pictures that day, and they all look rather dark. It was a difficult decision but this is probably my favourite of that day.

We started our walk uphill but then we decided to go downhill towards loch Voil. We then decided to walk along the loch's shore. This was maybe not the best idea as most of our way was rather marshy and muddy, which meant that every so often we kept sinking into the ground. It was quite hard to find ways around the marshy area as well. I have to admit that I didn't enjoy that bit too much but the views were excellent. Going up the hill to the main road was quite hard because it was really steep and there were many fallen trees, so we kept going along the loch's shore line. Not an easy walk but we managed to make it all the way back to the hut/log cabin. I had never been so happy to see a main road, by the way! I was exhausted by the end of it.

We spent the evening relaxing and listening to some music. The hut warmed up really quickly with the little stove to the point that we had to open the door as we were roasting inside!

Nice and peaceful sleep afterwards although the wind was blowing and it kept raining.

Thanks very much for all your lovely comments and stars. I hope you enjoyed the last few days! :)
