A Candle for Dad
We're in St Omer in Northern France for the weekend with mum - I've mentioned before that we used to have a house in a village very close to here which we sold two years ago.
St Omer will always be my second home, and we still come to stay around 3 - 4 times a year and catch up with old friends. Mum and dad spent many lovely times with us here and I asked mum if she'd like to come this weekend, to which her answer was 'Yes'.
We arrived around lunch time before the local Saturday market finished and then had lunch around the town square. Afterwards we walked up to the Cathedral where a wedding was about to take place - the bride was in a black dress....
Anyway, Mum and I went inside and this photo is of mum lighting a candle for Dad. I love the colours and the light and the fact that you can see the alter in the background.
I struggled with my choice today as I had some lovely photos of the market, and also the outside of the cathedral, but I think this one is more appropriate under the circumstances, as Dad was due to be with us on this visit....
