A new signage system has been introduced. If there's a cross next to your name, you can't go in her room. "How do I write 'except for stories' Dad?"

I felt bad that I put a swift end to this fun by explaining that I'd be implementing similar rules in my room and that I would miss kissing Eve goodnight in her room but would be fine with leaving her to sort out laundry/toys. I felt terrible actually, it wounded her to her core when she realised how it felt to be shut out. I'll try and teach the lesson more gently next time.
