Moules et Frites
After driving north through Germany, Holland and then the long, straight monotonous roads of Belgium (with many mad and aggressive Belgian drivers!) we visited Brugge. It was a hot day - circa 38 deg and very humid. Lovely ice creams cooled us down however whilst walking around the old streets and across the many canals. Strange that the main cathedral closed at 5pm however - so we could not see inside. Religion - heh? still aloof and unfriendly to the prols....
Back in the car and then more driving north up to Calais for the night. Expedia - states it is a 15 minute walk from the hotel to the centre....LOL....ha ha... We are fast walkers and it still took us at least 3/4 hour. Worth it in the end however as we found a lovely French restaurant in one of the main squares. M had a lovely fish salad and I had the traditional moules marinieres et frites with of course lashings of biere de pression (cheaper if you go local).
The picture is of Calais town hall. Nothing much else to take pictures of here to be honest - but then it is rather a rapid tour.
