Book Signing

Back blip for Thursday 1 December.

After a wonderful lecture which was interesting, exciting, informative, historical and even amusing at times, we had a chance to meet the team of explorers that had crossed the empty quarter of the Arabian Peninsula.
This was a feat that had not been carried out for 85 years, 1930, by Bertram Thomas.
Crossing The Empty Quarter lecture was held at the Royal Geographical Society in London, Kensington Gore, off Exhibition Road. Very close to the Royal Albert Hall.
The whole thing was amazing and I had the opportunity for the exploration leader, Mark Evans, to sign my copy of the book 'To David with love from the desert, Mark'. It will be read very carefully and then kept in a plastic bag to preserve it in mint condition as is my signed 'Vulcan 607' book which was signed by a number of people involved in the first Vulcan raid (of 7) on the Falkland Islands.   :-)
