Magic Reindeer Food

Every year I like to make this with the children at work. It is something I never did as a child, all we ever left was a carrot and milk for the reindeer and a mince pie and whisky for Santa!

If you have never made it before all you need is:

Oats
Glitter or Christmas shape confetti or coloured crystals/sand
or
Alternatively if you want a truly edible mixture add hundreds and thousands.

Mix as much quantity as required and put into a clear sandwich bag tied with ribbon and attach poem.

There are many variations of poems but the following is one of my favourites.

Inside this special package is a treat
but not for you!
It contains magical reindeer food
and here is what you do.
Sprinkle this magical reindeer food
carefully on the ground.
And tonight if you are lucky
Santa's reindeer will come around.
But here's a secret I have to tell,
one you must try to keep.
That Santa's reindeer only come
when you are fast asleep.
So quickly put your jammies on
and get a story read,
Then sprinkle this magic treat outside
and hurry off to bed!
