Lucky so far

Yet again, I'm spending Christmas with the friend I first met on my first day at university and her mother. Being spoiled, playing bridge and enjoying the pool and gym is a good recipe for a lovely break.

Wimp that I am, I wanted to negotiate the dreadful motorways, traffic and the storm as early as I could. I arrived after a relatively straightforward journey and my room was ready.

I was just sitting by my window watching a squirrel when I noticed this gorgeous green woodpecker just close by.

Lucky indeed.
