Christmas Eve 2016
The hope of a better day when the moon was visible in a dark clear sky early this morning was dashed when dawn brought with it a battering of rain showers from a lowering grey sky.
His Lordship and I managed to walk to the local bookshop in between showers but got caught by one on the way home.
However as I write this at 2pm, a watery sun has appeared to give Christmas Eve more of a welcome and for Edinburgh to look more appealing to Luca. She and David are on their way into town to do battle with the Christmas Markets before an evening of get togethers with friends.
Meanwhile His Lordship and I are in a hiatus, a bubble of inactivity, savouring the calm before the storm of cooking tomorrow.
Happy Christmas to you all from the Dower House!
