Homespun Charms

Where's the fun in that!!

Spent the morning working hard in the house, necessary cleaning etc. Then worked on some village hall papers. After lunch I was able to cycle round the village delivering minutes.
The weather remained warm and fair. A few threatening looking clouds occasionally that I have learned to ignore recently, sunnier spells ruled the day. After lunch decided on a favourite walk around the fields from Kepwick and through Nether Silton. Lots of blipping opportunities from a field of tups, 2 of them decidedly yellow and very grumpy looking and Frazer's geese all sitting in the middle of the road. A field full of young and very curious cows that were getting a little too interested and a 'clarty' dog after a roll in who knows what! Settled on this bridge.
Several years ago the original was washed away in heavy rains. Since then crossing the beck at this point has always provided a challenge. I have been piggy backed across, waded in wellies, bare feet and even walked the 'tight rope' across carefully placed branches (sometimes falling off!) Now this new bridge has appeared and taken all the fun away and a very substantial piece of timber it is. Don't you love the ears on Bracken? She looked up the moment I said 'Blip'!
