Wednesday: The Templeton

It was pretty rainy today - we headed out for a diner breakfast this morning to 'The Templeton', which we have been wanting to try for a while.  It's been a diner since the 1930s and has kept much of its original character, although it has changed names a few times.  We do love the diner culture.........

Having time off I have had more time for reading and today I finished Richard Wright's 'Native Son'.  I'm glad I read it - it's pretty seminal and was a fast-paced and gripping story.  But, if I am meant to feel sympathy for the main character, Bigger, then I don't.  I understand that his situation was untenable because of his background and origin, but I don't feel any sympathy for the argument that's why he did what he did............I won't say any more as I don't want to give the plot away, but I did have to get that off my chest.
