Playing with ducks

Back home today and this morning we had a walk into town to say farewell to Stamford until next time.  A visit to the river to play with the ducks filled the little boy with joy as he chased them around and expended lots of energy (always useful before a long car journey as well!) 

We treated ourselves to a coffee and cake in town before heading back to the parents for a quick lunch (full English breakfast for lunch - yummy) and then headed back in the fog. 

So now we're home, New Year plans have been cancelled as our friends are not well and everything has a somewhat 'back to normality' feel about it.  We're firmly on diets and the menu for next week includes an awful lot of salad.  Next decision in the  house is when does the Christmas tree come down - and where do we buy a larger toy box for after a lovely haul of presents for the boys.
