Diary of an Edinburgher

Glitter!

We went to the early sitting at our local dog friendly restaurant, because at our age, still being up at midnight for the bells is not a given.

What a fun night we had too. A fantastic menu (I had the best steak ever), lots of bubbles and wine, friendly staff, all local clientele - kids, dogs, walls a-glitter.

Archie and Rufus came with us, and they were SO good. Rufus is always good and copes with any noisy surroundings, but we were very pleased with Archie, who stood and watched all night. A wee terrier came in with the owner and went out the back - Archie said nothing. But when the dog was taken out again later, and walked past us, Archie barked fiercely. Turns out the other dog was an 'intact male', which to wee Archie, means 'danger'. Everyone in the restaurant then knew there was dog.

In fact, the two wee girls in glitter dresses, came over and patted the dogs and gave them treats. The wee lad at another table came over too. They were so sweet. I've put a rather blurry shot in extras (I did ask the parents).

Back home, with more bubbles. I might make it to midnight, but I might not. Mind you, the sleeping pill last night didn't work, so I shouldn't really bother trying...

Happy New Year!
