Copa gets ready

Streets, shops and supermarkets seething with people - coming and going from the beach, topping up supplies for tonight, making sure they have the right outfit and flowers to see in the New Year. We were no exception - two or three trips to the shops for things we had forgotten and preparations for an unknown number of guests at home. The gringos were due from 8 p.m. onwards (and came much later), but the Brazilians and their families started to arrive at 2.30. Never mind, they all made themselves at home, the kids played outside (half expecting complaints from the neighbours), HH dozed in front of the TV and Maria helped me in the kitchen.
