Christmas

This morning we started at 04:00 with bringing barges alongside the Thialf at the new location. It looked not too good for our cook to have an undisturbed Christmas meal. We were on our way with the second barge when we got the news that the Thialf could not handle this barge within the next few hours. So we decided to drop anchor with barge and all. The current rate is enough to keep the barge well clear from us. In this way we had a couple of hours to enjoy a wonderful Christmas Dinner prepared by our cook Sjoerd, assisted by Michael, normally a bridge trainee, but now temporarily stationed in the Galley.
