At the park
The children slept all night, till 7.10 am. After breakfast we drove to Whitley Bay as son-in-law needed our old car to pick up a new bed for Thomas from Blayden. #2 daughter and I walked the 4 children to the park. It is hard to keep up with the youngest, James, even when he's got his dinosaur backpack with the lead on it. Thomas and Ella did a lot of climbing, with Nathaniel trying to keep up with them. Daughter took this picture of me on the swing with the four of them. Thomas is hidden round the other side, but i think it is a jolly shot.
After lunch Mr C helped build the bunk type bed which has drawers under it, plus a pull out desk. The rest of us played with the trains and tracks. Our trains went a lot better than #3 daughter's train home from London. It broke down at Northallerton so they got back over an hour late. It meant she got her marking done though. We drove Ella and Nathaniel home and arrived just as their parents got home.
The weekend went really well. The children were on good form. We all enjoyed it, but I'm ready to put my feet up now and watch "Endeavour".
