The bedraggled old chook
We woke in what seemed like the early hours of the morning to get up and milk and it was pouring with rain, and really it hasn't let up all day.
We had our wet weather gear on whenever we had to go out on the farm, but it rained so much today, we still managed to get wet and cold. On top of this we have had to contend with mud from where the cows have been in the paddock, which makes getting about feeding the cows and getting out new born calves a lot harder.
I got in from milking and feeding calves tonight, and realised I needed a picture for blip. I stood under our carport and took a picture of one of our poor old chooks, all wet and bedraggled. This is exactly how we felt today! Days like this we wonder why, oh why are we farmers.
