The Fishers

At low tide children often head for the pools of water beside the bridge that crosses the estuary at Kaiteriteri. There are fish to be caught there. My own children used to fish at the same spot over 30 years ago. In this image three children are trying their luck before the predicted heavy rain set in. Lots of campers have packed up and departed before the storm. Steve, Ian and Emily have headed off to relatives in Nelson for the night as life in our awing would have been miserable in the rain.
