Buttermere Church
This is the unusual wrought iron "Shepherd's Gate" which opens into the porch of Buttermere Church. The tiny church, built on a rocky outcrop overlooking the village, was described by William Wordsworth as follows: "A man must be very unsensible who would not be touched at the sight of the chapel of Buttermere".
