Today's the day ........................ to step back in time
Buildings like these are ten-a-penny in the quaint Shropshire town of Ludlow.
It's quite mind-blowing to think that somehow they have survived the ravages of time over several centuries to look much as they did when they were originally built - on the outside at any rate. This is the Feathers Inn which dates back to the early 17th century. It provided important services for travellers and was one of the town's posting inns, where horses could be hired to take riders and vehicles to inns in other towns. In 1749, stabling for above 100 horses was advertised.
Nowadays, travellers like ourselves settle for a comfortable bed and somewhere to watch the rugby .......................
