Waitangi Day

Today's the day .........................  that's special for New Zealanders

I know that today is Waitangi Day  because it is marked on the wonderful calendar that we received from Mrs F last Christmas - all the way from New Zealand.

In case you don't know - Waitangi Day  is named after the place where New Zealand's founding document, the Treaty of Waitangi  was first signed by all parties involved - on 6 February, 1840.  It's always marked by a day of public holiday.  We were actually in New Zealand on 6 February 2014 and we have lots of good memories of all that happened on that day.

So this blip is for Mrs F to let her see that her calendar is on the wall here - and probably looked at most days.  We've hoisted the black flag with the silver fern up the flagpole - and we're sending good vibes to all you kiwis on the other side of the world ........................... !
