Beauty on a grey day.

On a grey, damp and uninspiring day, this glorious rhododendron growing in the front garden of a town house in Cockermouth, really brightened my day. 

I didn't know that rhododendrons flowered in February and, considering the weather, this specimen is quite hardy!
