My first Insect

I think this is a hover fly, but I don't want to bet on it ad insect identification is not my strong suit.

This flower was covered in them and they obligingly stayed in position as I manoeuvred the camera on its tripod into position. I want to capture more exotic insects and marvel at the work of fellow blippers. It's early days but hope to be half as good as some of the work I've seen here.

Apologies for not commenting on other work recently. Hectic at work although I have a day off tomorrow, so this is the start of a long weekend. Yippee!
