Mahout with Elephant
The weather has kept me inside today. When I look around my house, I realise how nostalgic belongings add to one's sense of belonging. This small ceramic creation was fashioned by my son when he was about 9 years old (he turns 30 this year). It is an unlikely tea-pot, with the trunk being a spout, and the tiny mahout the lid, although I have never tried using it for tea.
It has taken its fair share of knocks over the years and been carefully repaired with Super-Glue, but its immeasurable value remains intact. If my house was burning down, this would be one of the few possessions I would bother to save.
