Still Talking About Storm Damage

The wind uprooted a substantial tree into this street the other day, taking down a utility pole and knocking out power to the neighborhood. They were quick to patch together the electric service, but the fascinating mixture of dangling crazy wires and connectors has to wait to get properly sorted out. The downed tree is still filling the street; luckily it is a very short block.

We do have other things we talk about here, besides the past storm and the upcoming storm and which roads might be open. For instance, the family made me a wonderful birthday dinner this afternoon, complete with a dense yummy killer chocolate cake! We had a good time playing parlor games, fooling around with a virtual reality headset, getting to know the granddaughter's boyfriend, and generally just enjoying each others company.  Feeling blessed.
