Preston Park Clock Tower

I was only in work until 1pm today as I still had a few hours holidays to take. As I work part time, my holidays are worked out in hours and not days, and I had an appointment this afternoon to see a genetics counsellor from Guys' & St Thomas' Hospital, so it was a good opportunity to use them up.

My appointment wasn't until 3.15pm, so I met Barbs at Patisserie Valerie for a hot chocolate and a catch up at lunch time, and then headed to the clinic.  Luckily I didn't have to travel into London as they come to Brighton once a month.

As I was early I had a wander around Preston Park in search of a blip, and noticed the clock tower lit up by the sun.  There are some lovely little angels at the base of the clock (see my extras).  I'm not sure of the history of the clock tower, but read that it was built in 1892.

The genetics counsellor was really nice and the good news is that based on my family background, she agreed to carry out a genetics test to look for a mutation in the BRCA gene.  It's only a limited test, but it's better than nothing, and I should have the results in 5-6 weeks.

The bad news is that I seem to be coming down with the lurgy again!  I started with a sore throat last night and I'm now very hoarse, achy and tired!  I shall have an early night tonight - we've got a nice weekend planned this weekend and of course go away next week, so I need to shake it off quickly!
