A day of exploration!
After a night in our cosy Travelodge room, we headed out early to make the most of the dry part of the day. We managed to walk from the centre of Keswick to the top of Latrigg, enjoy the stunning view, and come down over the top of the summit into Brundholme Woods before the rain began to fall. We continued along the railway path back into Keswick, continually seeing absolute devastation from the flooding - shocking, even having seen the destruction in, and around, Hebden Bridge.
The rain really took hold this afternoon, torrential would be an understatement, but it didn't put us off another stroll. We donned our waterproof gear and walked to Friar's Crag, and through Cockshott Wood before heading back along the road into Keswick. We were absolutely soaked, but it didn't matter. A shame the view from Friar's Crag wasn't as spectacular as it could have been, but it had beauty in a different kind of way.
I thought lots of trevorearthy who blips so many stunning Lake District views!
