A walk in white stuff
The snow we drove home in last night lay, so we woke to a lovely snowy scene. As soon as the sun got up I knew it would soon be gone, so phoned Val to see if she fancied a walk on the moor - there would be no golf for her today.
We both agreed that we don't get the kind of winters we used to, when it could be a struggle to get to work, and we carried a shovel and survival bag in the car all winter. However it was very nice to see everything so white and sparkly this morning - I wish Ella had still been here - none of the grandchildren have seen more than a slight covering, and have not had the sledging opportunities we had.
It has melted in the valley now but the higher hills are still white. The blip is Simonside from the moor. If we walked from our house and along the ridge you see, and home, doing a round, it is over 10 miles.
