Witch Hazel

Got up earlier than usual and threw lots of clothes and random gadget chargers in a bag and found a bottle of wine and some biscuits to bung in too. Remembered to take the car to work (a very, very rare occurrence requiring a specially bought parking permit) and got in early. 

Had a blissful morning without meetings and actually managed to get a few things done and cleared off my to do list. I even managed a lunchtime walk in the Harris Gardens. This witch hazel tree always catches my eye at this time of year because of the unusual shape of the flowers. 

Left a bit early and was on the motorway by 4.30. It was very busy but managed to get to the rendezvous hotel just after my sister. Lots of chatting before we ate and even more chatting in the room afterwards. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend.
