Mothering Sunday
The weather certainly played ball for Mothering Sunday - it has been beautiful all day, sunny with bright blue skies. I got some lovely cards where they boys kindly remembered to thank me for what I do for them all through the year (the only time of the year this happens!) and some chocolates (from Gavin!) and also some of those funny books which have all those sayings like 'children are a great comfort in old age....and the quickest way of getting there! and my favourite 'Goddess of the miraculously refilling fridge'
I looked back in blip (I love that very useful feature) and realised that on this date a year ago we had my mother's celebrations for her 80th birthday :(
I also noticed that Mothering Sunday was much earlier last year, on 6th March - as that was the 4th Sunday of Lent.
We met some friends for Mother's Day lunch and had a delicious lunch at a small Italian restaurant. It was a pity that Adam was not with us, but that cannot be helped. Last year only Thomas was with us, these things happen as they grow older and have other commitments. Gavin took a photo of us in the garden to remember the day.
Last night we finally watched Bridget Jones' Baby - I have had the DVD for a while now but we had not got around to watching it. It was the perfect silly movie to relax with and have a laugh while enjoying the good soundtrack.
Wishing everyone a good Mothering Sunday, hope you have had a good day.
