Mycena viscidocruenta (Ruby Bonnet)
An aptly named fungus. I wasted spent a lot of time trying to find identification on line this afternoon. Some of those sites are very hard to navigate.
Blip mate and I went on a fungi hunt at Stephens Bay this morning and this is one of the varieties we saw. They are so tiny (a cm across and a couple of cm high) it took a few minutes to get our eye in to see them. Once we had, they were everywhere. A single, better looking specimen in the extras
And while on the subject of fungi - I have picked enough mushrooms off the front lawn again to be able to have them for tea for the 3rd day in a row. Mushroom omelet on the menu tonight.
