Keep off the grass

I took this as I left my meeting yesterday.  The meeting was at a little gem of a place in the City of London that I have been part of for about twelve years.  The sports pitches are breath-taking when you walk in from the busy road outside due to their size right in the middle of the City.  The pitches are under repair from the winter football and rugby seasons, ready for the cricket season.  The poor groundsman has to continually repair and prepare the grounds throughout the year ready for the next sporting season.  Up next after cricket... the summer party season, which utterly decimates the grounds, needing about eight weeks to recover.

We've had a home day today, a lovely long walk this morning - mostly because everyone (well, the two youngest) woke up early and the very youngest was not his normal bundle of joy thanks to his early start.  The main intention of the walk was for him to sleep (he did, for an hour).  He's getting nice and tired these days as he has discovered crawling - or at least kind of swimming on the floor and dragging himself along.  So, he's mobile, I'm only kind of pleased....

The student is back hard at his studying after a bit of a break.  The plus side is us realising how nice it is when he isn't chained to a desk every waking moment and we're now looking forward to the end of the masters like never before!
