Another stunning day. Started with tea and coffee at Chesters by the river. Parking here is a nightmare in the middle of the day but as we started early we were fine. We then moved on to walk around Tarn Hows taking the more scenic route through the woods from the forestry commission car park rather than the tourist crammed national trust car park. I got temporarily stuck in the mud which was fun! My boots look like a pro's now.
We then struggled to find a suitable place for lunch as it was getting late but we stopped for a while in Hawkshead and Coniston before settling for the dependable Ambleside for a very late lunch at Zafferlis on the outside deck. We rounded off the day watching the colours of the lake change as the sun slowly slipped away.
