Cuckoo Cuckoo
We have quite a few mining bees busy merrily digging away in the garden so it's no surprise that they have a predator.
This is one of the many wasp-like bees who invade the nests just like cuckoos and lay their eggs in order for their larva to munch through the host eggs or larva of the bees already established there.
I like the eye here plus the little tongue of this insect delving into the nectar of a raspberry flower. It's tongue has a yellow end if you look closely which makes it stand out from the flower stamens round it. Go on - have a look!
