Beside the road
Quite some years ago, I began to take photographs of tractors. It became a bit of a standing family joke. On one occasion, about ten years ago, when we driving from Shiel Bridge (by Loch Duich) over the Old Military Road to Glenelg, we went past a collection of rather splendid tractors outside a farm. Daughter C (who along with S' mother was with us) called out to me to stop. Sadly I did not, as there were more humans there than tractors, and I figured I'd look a right fool. Now that I know I am a blipping fool, I would happily stop. The laughter inside the car was very good natured.
Today I had a lie in, choosing to take a midday run. Up on the ridge, this tractor was parked beside the road, outside the fence, away from the cattle in the field. Attached to the back of the tractor is a hay feeder with a rolled hay bale partly used and still attached.
By the number plate, this tractor was licensed to go on the roads in 1999. From its appearance, I think it is somewhat older than that, although others may know more about tractors and correct me.
The shadows indicate that it was then rather sunny; also warm for running. That did not last for very long after I had finished my run, and at one point horizontal rain was lashing the beach house, wherein we remained dry, and warm.
Am about to start the evening meal preparations. J has gone to Auckland to have a party for her friends (at sister's home) to celebrate her almost birthday. So just the two of us; while usual in Auckland, not so usual here.
Thank you to those who made such positive comments about yesterday's sunset picture. There was great colour in the sky again tonight, very briefly, amongst much cloud cover.
