An ordinary life....

Is it Saturday Yet?

Woke up this morning with no clue to what day of the week it was.  Convinced myself it was Friday!   Caused much confusion when talking to D about plans for the weekend as I kept talking about tomorrow, meaning Saturday!

I should have remembered as today's the day our nephew Andrew and his girlfriend Nikki were getting the keys to their brand new and first house together.  They are both moving in together and away from home for the first time ever!  I sent them both a good luck message and got an instant reply.  I think Nikki has been awake since 3am with excitement.  Andrew had been awake five minutes!

It's been such a joy following their lives over the past few months as they've gone through the trauma and excitement of buying their first home together.  There are so many parallels to our story when we were starting out that I feel as though I am re-living it all again.  We also got our keys on 20th April but didn't move in till we got married in the August.  Changed days :-))  Just can't believe it's been 28 years since it was us.

Builders here working outside on the roof today so we used the excuse of lots of hammering and banging to go out to our local Deli for lunch.  Any excuse!  hahaha!

After that it was time for me to head to the dentist to get this troublesome tooth looked at.  David very kindly said he would drive me incase it ended up being extracted and I didn't feel like driving back.  Thankfully the lovely (and very young!) dentist has managed to patch it up for the time being but next time it will be an extraction.  There's just not enough tooth left to do anything with.

One the way home we stopped at one of my favourite places, Colzium Estate in Kilsyth (we had our Wedding photos taken in the Walled Garden there) and I photographed my favourite line of trees but from the opposite end from where I usually position myself.  Also took a shot of my favourite secret door too (see extras)

Home for a glass of iced water.  The dental nurse was a bit over enthusiastic with the suction and my mouth felt like the Gobi desert when I left.  Numbness has all worn off now and only a light ache left, thank goodness.   Think I will avoid eating on that side of my mouth till tomorrow just to be on the safe side.

Soup for dinner!

Those of you who know me well, know how thoughtful David is.   Well today he outdid himself.   At lunch he asked me how I was feeling and I said, "not great, my arthritic hip and knee have been quite painful this morning but the good news is the pain from my tooth has been getting worse so that's actually taken my mind off the arthritic pain."   With a sympathetic look on his face and without the hint of a smile he replied "Poor you.  I'll hit you over the head with a cast iron frying pan later and that will take your mind off your hips, knees and tooth."

I know.  He's a keeper.

:-))
