The Eureka Skydeck 88 Melbourne CBD

Today I headed into Melbourne again. There were a few things on the list that I hadn't covered yet... There are still a few more but I managed to tick a few things off today. After an uneventful public transport experience into the CBD, I headed straight for the tourist info centre. I have now collected countless leaflets and investigated some of my other exploits to come... watch this space...

I caught the circular tram - a free tram with a tourist commentary around the city, and then decided to go up the Eureka Skydeck 88. It was something that I had planned but the weather was somewhat unpredictable. At ground level, the sun had finally decided to shine. After travelling at 9 m/s to the 88th floor, I stepped out onto the skydeck with gail force winds and rain again. The weather in Melbourne is, to say the least, unpredictable and changeable!!! The views however were amazing. After travelling back down, just as quickly to the popping sounds of my ear drums, I wandered around the countless plazas' of the city and marvelled at the amazing shopping boutiques and eateries they have here. Degraves street, with is street jazz bands and eateries has a fab atmosphere and the Queen Victoria market proved impossible to find, though I confess I gave up due to the weather.

Tonight I met with friends from my new job and had a lovely Thai meal. Tomorrow I'm off the the Mornington peninsula...
