Mixed emotions

Slept quite well, awake reasonably early with the bright sunshine streaming in the bedroom.

We were up and ready, off out to get the papers, and one or two bits, before our little (& large) visitors arrived.

My thoughts were with my friend and his family as he was laid to rest today. Im pleased the sun shone on them. RIP Marwan.

Our granddaughters kept us entertained and smiling, with us all being able to "play" outside and we even had a walk round to the duck pond, with a bag of seed to feed them :-)

I took a lot of photos whilst they were playing, Isabella never stays still, so although there were some nice shots, not as sharp as Id like. Ive plumped for this picture of Olivia, waiting for the ball that Grandad had thrown to fall out of the sky. I like the sunlight on her sweet face :-)

Middle son, Dil and the girls left for home mid afternoon, giivng us some time to do a few things in the garden. I transplanted our largest rhododendron into an even larger container, as its been looking a little sorry for itself......took me an hour and a half, had to use a bread knife to carve off some of the older roots (!) hopefully this well give it a new lease of life :-)
Also top dressed three other large containers, fed and watered them. Hub was busy earthing up his spuds, planting sweet peas having made wigwams from osme of our own canes from last years bamboo thinning.

As we'd had pizza for dinner, followed by choclate mousse ;-) we've had a mezze style light tea, parma ham, blue cheese, tuna, watercress, cucumber, tomatoes, chutney, soda bread and strawberries, a right ol mixture, but very tasty :-)
