Knowing where to stand

The great American photographer Ansel Adams (who died 33 years ago yesterday ) once said that "a good photograph is knowing where to stand".

Walking up through the Stronafian forrest today there were many great views back along Loch Riddon looking towards the Burnt Islands, Bute and then Arran.

This panorama is, I think, the best of them but it was a hard choice.

My extra photo is of a stand of trees in the forest, which is owned by the local community and is a great asset.
