Galton Bridge

First proper full day working in Stafford, which will be a new thing a day every week. Discovered that I can get the train from my home in Birmingham and change at Smethwick Galton Bridge saving having to battle with changing trains at Moor Street and New Street. Hence today's picture as you get a really good view of Galton Bridge from Platform 1.

It's quite a thing considering it was constructed in 1829, by Thomas Telford, and at the time was the highest single span bridge in the world. It's Grade I listed but best of all is now only open to cyclists and pedestrians.
