Clingon

This hawthorn fly, clinging on to a grass stem,  was just one of thousands swarming around as we walked across fields today. They have extremely long back legs which trail as they flit around the hedgerows and low bushes and grasses.
I was wearing a very very bright green jacket (about the colour of this background) which they seemed to be attracted to.
I seem to be a magnet for all things winged this week.
