Verity
This morning it was M's turn to be taken to the station to go back to that London. Then C and I headed off to Ilfracombe. Which turned out to be a pleasant Victorian town with a snug harbour. But it was a town with only one purpose - tourism. It must be jammed during the Summer. Not sure that I'd want to stay here.
But the statue in the harbour is excellent. It's by Damien Hirst and is called Verity. It's based on a Degas ballet girl but she's pregnant, holds a sword and the scales of justice and is partially flayed to reveal her muscles, embryo and skull. Quite at odds with the rest of Ilfracombe...
Before heading back, we spun by Woolacombe which was OK but nothing to shout about.
Then back to Appledore where I had to do the trad run with M without M.
Missed H and M a bit. But M will be home to build his bike soon and we are off to Paris to see H in a few weeks...
