The Heart of the Rose

There are just a few roses left in the garden and some still look beautiful like this one. I went outside to photograph a bird with my big lens but did not manage to capture one and ran out of time. The rose will have to suffice.
Spent a good part of the day in Timaru and Geraldine helping a friend sort materials for a patchwork quilt. She is very good at the craft but no good sorting colours and I love that part of it.
After I came home made chicken and rice soup from the stock after making chicken casseroles yesterday. All in the freezer ready for a visit from family next week.
