Hiding at Hidcote

First of all, a massive thank you to all you lovely blippers for the hearts stars and lovely comments on my 1000th blip....I knew it was coming up, but hadnt realised it was yesterday ;-)

We slept really well last night, such a comfy super king size bed :-)) Some rain today, but overall pretty good. After a cooked breakfast we headed to Hidcote Manor as planned.

What a terrific place, thoroughly enjoyed it, spent a good four hours walking around the grounds and listening to a talk in the manor house. We were even paid £5 for taking time to take part in a quick survey of National Trust food and produce..... coffee and scone, so it was straight back into their pockets ;-)

Todays blip is the view looking up the main axis with their red border, just one of many splendid views around every corner. We chatted to many folk today, probably more Americans, Australians, South Africans, than Brits :-) A popular and beautiful place.....glad we took the time to call in :-)

After Hidcote we popped to Snowsgill Manor, where the rather quirky Charles Wade, from the the age of 7, until he passed in the mid 1800s, deposited and stored his entire eclectic collection of "stuff" , some 30,000 items from around the British Isles. Albeit, that a lot of them had been imported from around the world by their, original owners. It is a fascinating place to visit and a real mishmash of interesting items. As our landlady said this morning, its a marmite manor, you will either love it or hate it......we loved it :-)

Late after the rain set in, so we took a drive to visit the village/town of Broadway......another lovely typical Cotswold stone built high street, lined with pretty wuaint teamrooms and shops. Weve certainly got our 10,000 steps in today :-)

Well I had best get myself in the shower as we are off out for something to eat this evening in half sn hour or so.

Weather looks really wet all day tomorrow, but our plan is to stop in Warwick en route home...but we will see what the morning brings :-)
