Alan Hughes

Had a very constructive series of discussions today with our volunteer leaders from across Scotland. Picked up on some of the discussions we had yesterday about demonstrating what we are doing in the hearings system to address some of the issues identified in the report. While some are for us to tackle, others will be achieved only with the cooperation and support of partners.

It was an occasion to mark the forthcoming end of tenure of Alan Hughes who is standing down from the post of Area Convener for Glasgow. With some 450 panel members the organisation and management is like a small business and Alan has brought his own business skills to the post.

We are not losing him to the system as he plans to revert to another role in Glasgow and we look forward to his ongoing contribution.
