Americana!

Can't get more 'American folk' than Baltimore's annual 'HonFest' -- one of my favorite street festivals in the region.

“Hon” is a term of endearment short for “Honey”, bestowed upon people by the working women of Baltimore, in this traditional blue collar city of Maryland. Boas, beehives (see one in the making in the extra), housecoats, funky sunglasses and leopard prints are de rigueur in that absolutely charming neighborhood gathering. 


Good humor reigns and there is sass aplenty (check the smoker in the extra), along with music and contests for the 'best Hon' (also in the extras) A great afternoon of levity -- my mom couldn't believe her eyes! ;)
