Diary of an Edinburgher

Long grass...

Picked up Rufus on my morning toddle round the block with Archie. His mum was only going to the supermarket, but we want to get Rufus used to being here without crying too much. And he didn't. Just the occasional little whine when he remembered. Constant little treats helped keep his mind occupied.

We both went to the gym, though I only did half an hour on the bike. When I returned, Christine had done her shopping, including a few treats for each of us (peas, cherries and doggie treats). So kind. She's off to her family cottage in the wilds of central Scotland.

We then went to the solicitor for a meeting to finalise legal stuff. All done. Just have to pay her now...

From there we stopped off at Braidburn Valley Park to give Archie a big run. He loved hopping about in the long grass. He chased the ball for a while - ideal there, because he can jump into the river when he needs a drink. I didn't bring my stick, but I got very tired and started limping badly, so I took a short cut and waited on a bench, while Archie and JR walked on right round the circuit. Though they took an awful long time to appear again. JR was chatting with a chap who was going on a river cruise in Vietnam, which is something that interests us now and again. JR had a go on the bike for a few seconds (extra).

Back home to eat my peas and watch the news. I can't stop watching it. Unbelievable happenings in this day and age in Britain. It's so tragic. People are angry because the announced enquiry into the tragedy, seems to be 'kicking it into the long grass'
