Church picnic

It's been another glorious day, hasn't it! Katie's been quite excited about today - we had a church barbecue planned and it's always a good day. It met expectations totally. The morning service as normal then we sent off people on the car treasure hunt. Katie went with some of her friends and I went to help set up the barbecue. We had a wonderful time in the sunshine. Good company, loads of lovely food, lots of laughter, bubbles, play time. A great afternoon. 

We were supposed to go from there to a celebration of my nephew's First Communion but it was quite a drive and Katie asked not to go. She was hot, sticky and quite tired. We came home and cooled off a bit. She had some time in the garden when the sun had begun to drop just a little. We even had her bedtime story in the garden. She wasn't keen to go to bed, what with it bringing the arrival of Monday nearer!
