Kiwi blossom

Today's the day ......................... not to expect

Our kiwi plant is covered in blossom.  The air is thick with the scent of the creamy yellow flowers - and the bees love them.  If only a small percentage of the flowers went on to become fruit, we'd be very happy.  Unfortunately, if it's the same as every other year, they won't.

We were told when we bought it that it was a self-fertilising variety and that it would get on with the business of producing kiwi fruit without needing any assistance.  Unfortunately, it doesn't.

So we've sort of given up hope that it ever will - and just enjoy the blossom instead ......................
